Kwashunda LaQuet Watson was a 48-year-old female whose life was marked by care, dedication, and purpose. Known lovingly as Kay to her friends and family, she pursued a calling that reflected her deep compassion for others. After earning both a bachelor's degree and a nursing degree, she worked as a registered nurse at the VA hospital in her community of North Little Rock, Arkansas, serving patients with skill and commitment. Above all, her family was at the heart of her life. She was a devoted mother to her four children, Markell Foreman Jr., Lauryn Johnson, Jordyn Watson, and Joshua Watson, and a beloved grandmother to Micah and Nova Foreman.

The quiet of a Tuesday morning was broken on September 22, 2026, when police in North Little Rock received reports of a shooting. Officers were dispatched at approximately 7:38 a.m. to a residence in the 5600 block of Green Valley Avenue. Inside the home, authorities found Kwashunda suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified her husband, 47-year-old Glen Watson, at the residence and arrested him without incident. He was transported to the North Little Rock Justice Center, where he was charged with one count of capital murder in his wife’s death. He was later held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center.

Although an arrest was made, authorities announced that the investigation was still open and ongoing. They asked that anyone with information about the incident contact the North Little Rock Police Department Tip Line at 501-680-8439 or Detective William Williams at 501-771-7151. Callers were assured they could remain anonymous. As of the arrest in September 2026, the case was proceeding through the legal system.
