On August 28, 2007, Eugene L. Blackmon, 30, was found fatally shot in Charlotte, North Carolina, near 618 Echodale Drive. Known by the nickname "Geno," Blackmon was discovered lying on the ground after neighbors reported hearing gunshots. The location of his body, close to a wooded pathway connecting to Dunbrook Lane near his residence, suggested he may have been trying to flee or move toward safety when he was attacked.
Despite attempts by medical personnel, Blackmon was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
In addition to Blackmon's death, the gunfire also struck a nearby house, but no other injuries were reported. The circumstances surrounding his murder remain unsolved, and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department continues to investigate the case. They encourage anyone with information to come forward, offering a reward for tips that could lead to an arrest.
