Kieffer, a 35-year-old White/Caucasian female from Darlington, Wisconsin, was killed on September 19, 2026, during a shooting outside a residence on Rose Lane in the Town of Smelser, just south of Cuba City. According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, the incident unfolded shortly before 1:30 p.m., when the county dispatch center received a 911 call reporting two people suffering from gunshot wounds outside the residence.
