In the late summer of 2026, the community of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was unsettled by a sudden act of violence that claimed the life of 59-year-old Alrick Francis. On the morning of Saturday, August 22, police and emergency services were dispatched to the 2300 block of Northwest Ninth Court following reports of a shooting.
