A life was tragically cut short on the night of July 19, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, when 30-year-old Nico Taylor was shot and killed. Both Taylor and the man who would later be accused of his murder, 30-year-old Markel Pinto, were of Native American descent. The evening began with the two men, who were neighbors at the Volcanes Commons apartment complex on the city's West Side, spending time together and going to buy marijuana.
