On April 30, 2012, 20-year-old Ronald Monroe Martin was shot and killed on the front porch of his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was pronounced dead at the scene with his mother by his side. The incident occurred in the Grier Heights community, a neighborhood that has seen a history of violence.
