Marquez Banyard, a 27-year-old Black/African American man, was fatally shot during an early-morning attack on Milwaukee's Lower East Side on June 23, 2026. The shooting unfolded shortly before 2 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Van Buren Street, near the Brady Street entertainment district. Banyard was inside a 2014 Nissan Rogue with two other people when gunfire erupted.
