In the early hours of Saturday, June 27, 2026, the city of Boston was marred by a burst of violence that claimed the life of 26-year-old Jose Dantes of Brockton and injured four others. The incident unfolded around 1:45 a.m. in the Mattapan neighborhood, where Boston Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 1447 Blue Hill Avenue.
