On a summer afternoon in Tucson, Arizona, on June 29, 2026, the life of 38-year-old Aimee Leigh Kimble was tragically cut short. Responding to a report of a shooting at approximately 12:30 p.m., police and fire crews arrived at an apartment complex on the 8250 block of East Golf Links Road. There, on an enclosed patio, they discovered Aimee Leigh Kimble, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation revealed that she had recently gone to the apartment, where a conflict erupted with the man who lived there.
The suspect, identified as 33-year-old William Michael Pritchard, was located at the apartment and taken into custody by police. According to court filings, the dispute that led to the fatal shooting stemmed from an argument over payment for sex. Pritchard initially told investigators that Kimble was trying to break into his apartment. He later admitted that they had met on social media and that she had come to his apartment. Pritchard claimed that when he refused to pay her for sex, she threatened to have a friend come over to rob and kill him, at which point he grabbed his gun and shot her. The investigation was further aided by Pritchard's own sister, who contacted 911 on June 29th to report that her brother had told her he had shot a woman.
Following an interview with detectives, William Michael Pritchard was arrested and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex. He has been formally charged with second-degree murder. When officers investigated further, they found Pritchard's vehicle parked near his apartment with the back seats folded down and a tarp laid out across the back. As the legal process begins, the case against Pritchard will proceed through the court system. The Tucson Police Department's investigation is ongoing, and they have asked anyone with additional information to come forward.
