In the early morning hours of June 7, 2026, the city of Sanford, Florida, was disturbed by gunfire that would ultimately claim the life of 32-year-old Deion Fields. Police were first called to the area of Historic Goldsboro Boulevard and Mangoustine Avenue around 3:20 a.m. for a reported shooting. While responding to that scene, another 911 call directed them to a second shooting just blocks away at Historic Goldsboro Boulevard and Pomegranate Avenue.
