On January 13, 2017, 52-year-old Thomas Louis Beatty Jr. was shot and killed in northwest Charlotte, North Carolina. Authorities responded to a call around 4:30 p.m. and found Beatty lying in a yard on Morning Breeze Lane, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead.
The investigation revealed that Beatty and his assailant knew each other, and police believe the shooting was drug-related. At the time of the incident, Beatty's murder marked the seventh homicide in Charlotte for the year 2017. Despite this, no arrests have been made, and authorities continue to seek information from the public to solve the case.
