On May 12, 2008, 63-year-old Larry Allen Broughton was tragically shot and killed during an attempted robbery while working at the front desk of the Country Hearth Inn in Charlotte, North Carolina. Two men entered the inn under the pretense of booking a room. Shortly after, one of the men brandished a gun and opened fire, fatally shooting Broughton in the chest. Another employee, Manjula Patel, was also shot and left in serious condition but survived.
Broughton, a family man and proud grandfather, was known for his dedication to his work and his love for his family. Despite police efforts, including enhanced surveillance photos, the case remains unsolved. His family, especially his daughters, continue to seek justice and closure, hoping that someone with information will come forward to help resolve the case
