On December 9, 2017, 61-year-old Asuncion Chacon-Perez was shot and killed in a domestic violence incident in Charlotte, North Carolina. The perpetrator, her son Antioco Andrade Chacon, also killed his wife, Marina Bravo Aguilar, and critically injured his 12-year-old daughter before taking his own life.
