In the city of Knoxville, Tennessee, a quiet Sunday evening was shattered by a violent act that ended the life of 31-year-old Perry Baker. On May 10, 2026, officers from the Knoxville Police Department were dispatched to an apartment on Lula Powell Drive to conduct a welfare check. Inside, they made a grim discovery; Baker was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. It was later determined that he had sustained at least one gunshot wound.
