In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 16, 2026, a fatal altercation shattered the peace at a residence on Highway 1081 in Covington, Louisiana. William Jenkins, a 47-year-old man, was shot and killed in what authorities have described as a domestic dispute. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office was first alerted to the unfolding tragedy shortly after 1 a.m. through a distressing 911 call from a woman who reported that her uncle had just shot her father.
