In July of 2022, the family of 20-year-old Jyrion Dangerfield reported him missing to the Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office after he failed to return home from work. A few days later, on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, a Covington Police officer on patrol discovered Dangerfield's body inside his car, which was parked near a playground at the Covington Recreation Department.
