In the early hours of Friday, May 22, 2026, the quiet community of Valley Forge in Elizabethton, Tennessee, was disturbed by a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 18-year-old Jaylen Burleson. Deputies from the Carter County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on Earl McKinney Road at approximately 4:05 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Burleson deceased inside the home.
