In the early hours of April 4, 2026, the city of Pueblo, Colorado, was rocked by a tragic event that claimed the lives of three family members in what authorities have described as a double murder-suicide. Glenn Allen Beeman Jr., a 40-year-old man, was found deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident, which unfolded in the 1200 block of E.
4th Street, also resulted in the death of Amanda Leigh Manion, age 41.
Pueblo Police officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:01 a.m. after the ShotSpotter system detected several rounds of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered a grim scene with one individual deceased in the roadway and another inside a vehicle. These individuals were later identified as Beeman Jr. and Manion.
As the investigation into the double homicide began, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office was alerted to a second incident in Pueblo West. There, they found a male who had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This individual was soon identified as 19-year-old Glenn Allen Beeman III, the son of Glenn Allen Beeman Jr. and Amanda Leigh Manion. Preliminary information quickly led investigators to believe that the younger Beeman was the suspect in the deaths of his parents.
The family was left reeling from the devastating loss. Eric Manion, Amanda's brother, stated that the tragedy was the "direct and cumulative result of a catastrophic failure within the mental health system," and that Glenn Beeman III had "suffered a severe and complete mental collapse." His obituary noted that he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and riding dirt bikes.
Glenn Allen Beeman Jr. was remembered as a man who loved being outdoors, particularly fishing and playing frisbee golf. His obituary described him as someone who enjoyed working with his hands and building things. He was a father to three other children, Kayleigh, Martin, and Portia. The investigation into the deaths of all three individuals is ongoing.
