That report stated that Gerald Deese was accused in the shooting and that warrants alleged Deese used a semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine when Sillah was shot. The same report said Deese was charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Atlanta police later announced multiple arrests connected to the homicide. On April 23, 2026, APD’s Fugitive Unit, working with APD SWAT, the APEX Unit, Georgia State Patrol SWAT, and the FBI AMMO Task Force, took Gerald Deese and Gerquez Deese into custody without incident. Police said both were charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Days later, on April 27, 2026, police announced another arrest: Tyree Jordan was taken into custody without incident by APD’s Fugitive Unit with help from Georgia State Patrol. He was also charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
