In the early morning hours of April 9, 2026, a violent home invasion in a Belltown, Seattle apartment ended in the tragic death of 41-year-old Jesse Finney. The incident, which unfolded shortly after 5:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Fourth Avenue, was part of a planned robbery to steal a significant quantity of fentanyl.
Three men, reportedly armed, stormed the apartment with the intent to steal approximately two kilograms of the synthetic opioid.
Inside the residence, the situation quickly escalated. One of the intruders, allegedly armed with an AR-15 style assault rifle, pistol-whipped a second resident of the apartment. Amid the chaos, a single gunshot rang out, striking Finney in the head. He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 27-year-old Bradley Allen Might, who has since been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery. According to court documents, Might has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held on $3 million bail. A second suspect, a 34-year-old man from West Seattle, was also taken into custody, with a judge finding probable cause for his arrest for investigation of first-degree murder and robbery. Investigators have indicated that two other accomplices, known by the street names "Deuce" and "Pat," were also involved in the fatal robbery. During their investigation, police recovered a 9mm Glock handgun that had been discarded in nearby bushes.
