On a day that should have been filled with celebration, April 1, 2023, the life of Elijah Lewis, a 23-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in Seattle, Washington. Lewis, a well-known community activist and entrepreneur, had just picked up his nine-year-old nephew to take him to a monster truck rally for the boy's birthday. While driving in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, they encountered Patrick Cooney, who was riding an electric scooter.
