Randy Hoppert, a 35-year-old White/Caucasian male, died on April 9, 2026, after a routine civil process in Porterville, California, turned into a deadly ambush. Hoppert was a detective with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, a former U.S. Navy corpsman, and a law enforcement officer whose family also had deep ties to the department. He had joined the sheriff’s office in January 2020 and was among those who responded when fellow deputies came under fire while serving an eviction notice.
