In the afternoon hours of April 22, 2026, a burst of gunfire shattered the daily calm at a bus stop near the Delmar Loop MetroLink station in St. Louis. When the chaos subsided, 24-year-old Lamar Jackson lay dead, the victim of a fatal shooting. The incident unfolded in the 700 block of Des Peres Avenue, where a Metro bus was also struck by the gunfire, though fortunately, no one on board was injured.

Surveillance footage from the scene captured the tragic moments, showing a man walking past Jackson before turning and shooting him as his back was turned.
