On the night of March 31, 2026, a burst of violence in Harlem claimed the life of 36-year-old Santiago Rafael Garcia De Jesus. The Yonkers resident was discovered by police with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso in front of a building at 111 West 110th Street, near the corner of Malcolm X Boulevard. The shooting occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m. Emergency services rushed him to Mount Sinai Morningside hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
