The investigation into the senseless killing
led to two arrests in the days that followed. The first breakthrough came on April 23, when police apprehended 29-year-old Angel Celpa, who resided in the same housing complex as Jimenez. Celpa was charged with assault in the third degree and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, marking the initial progress in a case that had cast a shadow of fear over the neighborhood.
A more significant development in the case came on April 29, with the arrest of a 16-year-old male. The teenager faced a litany of serious charges, including murder in the second degree, assault in both the first and second degrees, and various weapon-related offenses.
