In the late hours of April 6, 2026, the life of 36-year-old Shaunterrio "Shaun" Hudson was tragically cut short in what initially appeared to be a single-vehicle crash in Forest Park, Georgia. Responding to the scene at the intersection of Watts Road and Bartlett Road, officers discovered Hudson on the ground next to his car, not with injuries from a crash, but with a fatal gunshot wound. It was later determined that Hudson had been shot through the driver's side window of his vehicle. A bystander reported hearing the gunshot and Hudson's cries for help before he succumbed to his injuries.

Friends and colleagues remembered Hudson as a kind and fierce friend who dedicated his career to saving lives. He worked as a NeuroInterventional Radiology Technologist at Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was a crucial member of the stroke team, assisting doctors in life-saving procedures. His sudden and violent death left a void in the community and among his loved ones, who struggled to comprehend the senseless loss of a man described as having a profound impact on everyone he met.

The investigation into Hudson's death quickly shifted from a traffic accident to a homicide. Surveillance footage from a nearby gas station captured images of Hudson with another man, 20-year-old Quindaris Garrett, on the night of the shooting. Less than 24 hours later, an officer spotted Garrett at a BP gas station in Forest Park. Upon his arrest, police found a 9mm handgun and a bloody shirt in his possession. Garrett, who also had an outstanding warrant in Cobb County, was taken into custody for questioning.

During the interview with detectives, Quindaris Garrett confessed to the shooting death of Shaunterrio Hudson. He has since been charged with murder. While a motive for the shooting has not been publicly released, the arrest brought a swift, albeit somber, development in the case, offering some measure of resolution to a community mourning the loss of a man who spent his life helping others.
