In the quiet community of Forest Park, Georgia, the life of 36-year-old Shaunterrio Hudson was tragically cut short on the night of April 6, 2026. Hudson, a dedicated NeuroInterventional Radiology Technologist at Grady Memorial Hospital, was known by colleagues and friends as a kind and fierce friend who was instrumental in saving lives through his work with the stroke team. His sudden and violent death sent shockwaves through the neighborhood and among his loved ones.
On that fateful evening, what began as a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Watts Road and Bartlett Road quickly turned into a homicide investigation. First responders arrived to find Hudson's BMW 530i crashed into a tree, but the scene was far more grim than a simple accident. Hudson was discovered lying on the ground next to his car, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. It was later determined that he had been shot through the driver's-side window while driving, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. Despite his critical injuries, Hudson managed to exit his car and call for help before succumbing to his injuries at the scene.
The investigation swiftly moved forward as Forest Park police utilized security footage from a local gas station. The footage showed Hudson with another man, later identified as 20-year-old Quindaris Garrett, on the night of the shooting. This crucial piece of evidence led police to issue a "be on the lookout" alert for Garrett. Less than a day later, an officer spotted him loitering outside a BP station in Forest Park. Upon his arrest, it was discovered that Garrett had an active warrant out of Cobb County. A search of his person revealed a 9mm handgun and a bloody shirt.
During questioning, Quindaris Garrett confessed to the murder of Shaunterrio Hudson. He was subsequently charged with murder. While an arrest has been made, the motive for the killing has not been released by law enforcement officials. Friends and family, grappling with the senseless loss, have set up a fundraiser to help with burial costs and to honor the memory of a man described as an "amazing person" whose absence leaves an irreplaceable void.
