In Glasgow, Kentucky, on the afternoon of Monday, April 6, 2026, a seemingly ordinary moment tragically escalated into a fatal act of violence, claiming the lives of 22-year-old Ava Woodcock and her unborn child. Woodcock, a mother to a one-year-old daughter, was in her vehicle in a restaurant parking lot. Following what authorities have described as a "domestic incident," she sounded her car horn.
Moments later, a man identified as 24-year-old Brandon Lee Bond allegedly crossed the
street and opened fire on Woodcock's car while she was still inside. After being shot, her car continued to move before crashing. Woodcock was critically injured and transported to a hospital in Louisville, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day, April 7, 2026. Her unborn daughter, to be named Neveah Marie Woodcock, also did not survive.
Bond fled the scene of the shooting but was later discovered in a nearby wooded area and taken into custody by police. The community has since rallied to support her family, who are facing not only profound emotional pain but also significant financial burdens in the wake of this sudden loss.
