In the morning quiet of a Tuesday in Chicago, the life of 16-year-old Kanyae KJ Franklin was tragically cut short. On April 7, 2026, the young man was walking on the 7800 block of South Coles Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood when a white vehicle approached. Inside, three or four males were present, and from that car, a barrage of bullets was fired.
