In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Atlanta, a 17-year-old’s life was cut short in a sudden and senseless act of violence. Rashawn Mackey, a young man working as a food delivery driver, was fatally shot on April 14, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. inside a BP gas station on Metropolitan Parkway. Atlanta police officers responded to a call and found Mackey with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, Mackey was at the gas station with some other people, likely picking up orders for his gig work. It is believed that he did not know the person who shot him.
