In the early moments of October 9, 2009, the life of 17-year-old Edward Battles was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on the streets of Buffalo, New York. An African-American male, Battles was driving a Chevrolet in the city's Schiller Park neighborhood when he was struck by bullets shortly after midnight on Genesee Street.
