In the winter of 2026, a domestic dispute in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, ended in the tragic death of 38-year-old Kammi Ritchwood. On the evening of Sunday, February 9th, events unfolded inside a home on Cypress Avenue in the Moxham section of the city that would leave a family shattered and a community in mourning.
Authorities were called to the residence, where they found Ritchwood had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The Cambria County coroner would later confirm that she died at the scene from shots to the head, and her death was officially ruled a homicide. The incident was quickly identified by investigators as a "senseless act of domestic violence."
In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement took 43-year-old Raghib Qawi Nash into custody. Nash, who was identified as Ritchwood's husband, allegedly admitted to the shooting. He claimed that Ritchwood had attacked him first during the course of a domestic argument that escalated with fatal consequences. A. 45-caliber handgun was recovered by investigators at the scene of the shooting.
Nash was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and other related offenses. He was arraigned and sent to the Cambria County Prison, where he was held without bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for February 18, 2026, to determine if there was enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial.
