In the early morning hours of February 8, 2026, a 26-year-old man, Jon Kross Perez, was fatally shot in San Antonio, Texas. The shooting occurred around 7 a.m. in the 1600 block of Rigsby Avenue, outside what police have described as an unpermitted after-hours club. Perez was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead.
According to authorities, Perez had been at the establishment with friends.
As they were leaving, five suspects also exited the club, rushed towards Perez, and assaulted him before the fatal shots were fired. Investigators believe Perez was targeted by the assailants. His mother, Heavyn Sanchez, stated that she had spoken with her son just minutes before he was killed.
The suspects, described as five Hispanic men in their early 20s, were seen fleeing the scene in two vehicles: a silver sedan and a blue sedan. Police have released photos of the suspect vehicles to the public in the hopes of generating leads. As of now, no arrests have been made in the case. Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to the felony arrests of those responsible for Perez's death.
Jon Kross Perez was a single father of three children, a 6-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. His family remembers him as a kind and generous person who was attending school and was scheduled to graduate on the very day he was killed. The family has pleaded for anyone with information to come forward to help bring his killers to justice.
