In the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago, what began as a routine evening on January 23, 2026, ended in a sudden and tragic loss of life. Andrew Garay, a 30-year-old Hispanic man, was fatally shot while sitting in his car, a 2020 Nissan Murano. The incident occurred at approximately 8:54 p.m. in the 3500 block of West Wabansia Avenue.
