In the quiet community of Joliet, Illinois, a tragedy unfolded on the morning of January 25, 2026, ending the life of 36-year-old Joselynn Diaz-Garcia. A mother, she was found unresponsive in the backyard of her residence on Garnsey Avenue, the victim of an apparent homicide. Alongside her was her 4-year-old son, Gianni Reyes, who had also been fatally shot. The grim discovery was made after police responded to multiple 911 calls from concerned neighbors who reported hearing gunshots.
