On the evening of January 25, 2026, in Painesville, Ohio, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of the Jackson Towers Apartment Complex on West Jackson Street, leaving a community in shock and a young life cut short. Eighteen-year-old Davieon Talley was tragically killed in the incident. Responding to the sound of multiple gunshots at approximately 7:45 p.m., a Painesville police officer who was about to begin a foot patrol in the area discovered a chaotic and grim scene inside the apartment
building.
The officer first encountered a 22-year-old man at the north entrance of the building suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately rendered aid. Another victim, a 17-year-old male, was found wounded inside a vehicle as he was apparently trying to flee the scene. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Within the building, in a stairwell, officers located Davieon Talley, who had also been shot. He was rushed to University Hospitals TriPoint Medical Center, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
In a sad development, the 22-year-old victim, identified as Brent Adams, also died from his injuries on February 2, 2026, raising the death toll from the shooting to two.
