On the evening of January 29, 2026, a fatal encounter unfolded in Forest View, Illinois, that ended the life of 58-year-old Amin Alwan. Responding to a report of shots fired at approximately 5:37 p.m. near Synergy Logistics on West 47th Street, police discovered the Burbank man unresponsive and bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound to the face. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the officers who arrived at the scene, Amin Alwan succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation that followed, a joint effort by the Forest View police and the WESTAF Major Crimes Task Force, quickly led to a suspect. The deceased's own son, 30-year-old Hassan Alwan of Justice, was identified as the alleged perpetrator. He was taken into custody shortly after the incident.
Hassan Alwan has since been charged with first-degree murder in connection with his father's death. Following his arrest, he was ordered to be held at the Cook County Jail. His case is set to proceed through the legal system, with a scheduled court appearance at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
