On the morning of Friday, January 30, 2026, a fatal shooting cut short the life of 35-year-old Oscar Humberto Banuelos in Phoenix, Arizona. The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m. at a restaurant located in the vicinity of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road. First responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire and, upon arrival, discovered Banuelos suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Phoenix Police Department's homicide detectives immediately launched an investigation into the shooting. Their efforts quickly led to the identification of a suspect, 22-year-old Juan Jaimie Gomez Aguirre. Investigators were able to establish probable cause to connect Aguirre to the death of Banuelos.
