In the early hours of Monday, December 29, 2025, the life of 18-year-old Rafael Mercado Jr. was tragically cut short in a shooting that occurred in a residence on the 600 block of West College Avenue in York, Pennsylvania. Police were dispatched to the scene at 12:13 a.m. where they found Mercado had been fatally shot.
