A 14-year-old male, Carter Black, died after being shot inside a home in South Salina, Kansas, on January 2, 2026. He was transported to a Wichita hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away the following day, January 3, 2026. Carter was remembered as a gifted fisherman, hunter, and athlete who enjoyed playing guitar and participating in airsoft tournaments with his older brother.
