In the early evening of January 5, 2026, the city of Charlotte recorded its first homicide of the new year. Kishmere Wright, a 24-year-old man, was fatally shot in the Enderly Park neighborhood. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 3000 block of Carol Avenue, a residential street located near the intersection with Rose Street.
