In the late hours of a Tuesday night in Jonesboro, Arkansas, a call reporting the sound of gunshots disrupted the evening quiet. On January 6, 2026, police were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel on Caraway Road. Upon their arrival just before 11 p.m., officers encountered two individuals in the vicinity of the reported gunfire. A further search of the area behind the hotel revealed a grim discovery.
Shane Delaney, a 50-year-old man, was found lying in the parking lot with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene, and Delaney was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
