On the night of January 8, 2026, police were called to conduct a welfare check in Landover, Maryland, a community in close proximity to Hyattsville. Upon their arrival at the 3100 block of 75th Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m., they discovered 60-year-old Constance Miller outside and suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported her to a local hospital for treatment.
