On the night of January 8, 2026, police were called to conduct a welfare check in Landover, Maryland, a community in close proximity to Hyattsville. Upon their arrival at the 3100 block of 75th Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m., they discovered 60-year-old Constance Miller outside and suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported her to a local hospital for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, Constance Miller succumbed to her injuries eight days later, on January 16,
2026. Following her death, the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit took charge of the investigation, officially ruling her death a homicide.
As of now, detectives are actively working to identify a motive for the shooting and to identify any suspect or suspects involved in the death of Constance Miller. In an effort to gather more information from the public, the police department is offering a substantial reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests.
