On the evening of Saturday, November 29, 2025, a violent road rage incident in Denver, Colorado, claimed the life of 42-year-old male Miguel Romero. The fatal encounter occurred in the 3000 block of South Winona Court in the southwest part of the city. Miguel Romero had spent the day shopping and dining with his daughter, Leah Romero, and the two were returning home when the events unfolded. According to Leah, she noticed a vehicle following them closely and tailgating her father's car after he applied his brakes. The situation escalated as the other driver remained aggressively on their bumper until both vehicles came to a stop near the Romero residence.

Upon pulling over, Miguel Romero exited his vehicle to confront the other driver, leading to a heated argument between the two men on the roadway. The dispute turned tragic when the other driver produced a firearm and shot Romero in the chest. His daughter, who witnessed the entire confrontation from the car, stated that her father was able to say goodbye to her before collapsing. Emergency responders transported him to Swedish Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival due to a gunshot wound, a death the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner ruled a homicide.

Investigators with the Denver Police Department launched a search for the gunman, who fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The suspect is described as a male, possibly in his mid-20s, driving a white or light-colored compact pickup truck, similar in style to a Chevy Colorado. Police noted the vehicle might have distinctive yellow or orange lights on the front in addition to standard headlights and lacked a bed topper. As of early December 2025, no arrests had been made, and authorities continued to appeal to the public for information regarding the suspect or the truck involved in the shooting.
