The evening of Saturday, November 29, 2025, began as a festive gathering for 48-year-old Tori Denard Harris and a group of friends who had gone out to dinner during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. After the meal, the small group of five to seven acquaintances decided to continue their evening at Harris’s residence located in the Vinings Brooke subdivision of Mableton, Georgia.
The atmosphere, initially described by witnesses as friendly, shifted in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 30, 2025, when the homeowner decided it was time for the night to end.
Around 4:13 a.m., Harris asked one of the guests, 50-year-old Nikia Williams, to leave the property. Authorities reported that Williams refused the request, sparking a verbal dispute between the two men that quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. The altercation moved from the interior of the home to the front yard, where Williams allegedly produced a firearm. Witnesses stated that a single gunshot rang out, striking Harris. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered the male victim deceased on the front walkway leading up to his door.
Following the shooting, Williams fled the scene in a vehicle before law enforcement could secure the area. Investigators from the Smyrna Police Department identified him as the prime suspect and launched a search, tracking his movements for several days. On the morning of Wednesday, December 3, 2025, after negotiations involving his attorney, Williams surrendered himself to authorities at the Cobb County Jail. He was subsequently booked on charges of murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of his acquaintance.
