Inmer Arita, a 32-year-old man, was killed on the morning of December 6, 2025, in East Knoxville, Tennessee. The fatal incident unfolded around 8 a.m. at his home in the 1900 block of McCalla Avenue. Arita was discovered in his backyard, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
According to the Knoxville Police Department's homicide unit, their preliminary findings suggest that a physical altercation between Arita and another man preceded the deadly shooting. The events that led to this confrontation have not been publicly detailed. Following the shooting, the individual believed to be involved fled the scene.
Authorities have identified 33-year-old Job Alvarado-Lainez as a person of interest in connection with Arita's death. While he has not been formally charged in the shooting, law enforcement is actively searching for him. Alvarado-Lainez was reportedly seen leaving the scene of the shooting in a Dodge truck. This vehicle was later found abandoned on Wimpole Avenue. It was also noted by police that Alvarado-Lainez had a pre-existing warrant for unlawful weapon possession.
