On the morning of Saturday, December 6, 2025, violence erupted at an apartment complex in Cincinnati, Ohio, claiming the life of Bobby Lamar King, a 35-year-old man. Cincinnati Police Department officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Westwood Northern Boulevard in the Westwood neighborhood after receiving reports of a shooting at approximately 6:25 a.m. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered King suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite immediate life-saving attempts by the Cincinnati Fire Department, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the homicide, investigators from the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. Their efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of a suspect, 21-year-old Calvin Bowman. Bowman was taken into custody and charged with murder in connection with King's death. He was subsequently booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center, where he was held pending court proceedings as the investigation continued.
In the wake of the tragedy, family and friends gathered to honor King's memory. An obituary announced his "heavenly transition" and detailed that he had entered eternal rest on the day of the shooting. A visitation was scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the Walker Event Center on Reading Road in Cincinnati, followed immediately by a funeral service. The community also expressed their grief online, with over one hundred candles lit in his memory on a national gun violence memorial website.
