In the early morning hours of Monday, December 8, 2025, a violent disturbance shattered the quiet of the Brookwood Village Apartments in southwest Oklahoma City. Upon their arrival, they discovered the door to one of the units standing open, leading them to a grim discovery inside the residence.
Lying within the apartment was the lifeless body of Chimei Zounon, a 33-year-old Black male who had suffered fatal trauma. Investigators quickly determined that the victim had sustained injuries consistent with a homicide, specifically a gunshot wound, marking the city's 71st homicide of the year.
