On the evening of Wednesday, December 10, 2025, a tragic sequence of events unfolded in Beloit, Wisconsin, resulting in the untimely death of 25-year-old female Arianna Nichole Fobes. Authorities were dispatched to the 1900 block of Colony Court around 5:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, emergency responders found Arianna suffering from gunshot wounds.
She was immediately transported to a local hospital for urgent medical care, but despite the efforts of medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased later that evening.
As the investigation into the homicide commenced, law enforcement quickly identified a suspect vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. Information regarding the vehicle was disseminated to surrounding agencies, leading to a sighting later that same night. At approximately 9:51 p.m., Illinois State Police troopers and other local officers located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver refused to pull over, sparking a high-speed pursuit that extended into Bureau County, Illinois.
The chase continued along westbound Interstate 80 until the fleeing vehicle came to a stop at the Great Sauk Trail Rest Area, located west of Princeton, Illinois. When officers approached the vehicle to make contact with the driver, they discovered the individual dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect, who was the sole occupant of the car, was not immediately identified by name in public reports, but police confirmed that the person was a person of interest in the Beloit homicide. Arianna was a lifelong resident of Beloit and a 2018 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. She had dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Beloit Memorial Hospital, where she was known for her kindness and hard work. Her passing left a void in the lives of her family, including her parents, Nikki Gunn and Shannon Fobes, and her two young daughters, Kahlani Willow and Khloe Rose, who were described as the center of her world. Friends and family remembered her as a vibrant spirit who loved the color pink, enjoyed pampering her dog Cookie, and lit up every room she entered.
