On the evening of December 12, 2025, authorities in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, launched a homicide investigation following the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Hispanic male Nethaniel Raper. Officers were dispatched around 6:20 p.m. to an apartment complex located in the 2600 block of North Kelley Avenue after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered Raper lying in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was urgently transported to OU Medical Center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
The investigation revealed that the violence stemmed from a heated altercation in the apartment complex's parking lot between Raper and 25-year-old Ross Pittser. Reports indicate that Pittser was in a relationship with Raper's sister and that the argument escalated when Pittser produced a firearm and shot the teenager in the chest. Following the incident, Pittser remained at the scene and was subsequently detained by responding officers without further incident.
Pittser was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. He faces a complaint of first-degree murder in connection with Raper’s death.
